Open Paddock

Privacy

Open Paddock has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies. Here is everything the site, the API and the AI-assistant connection handle, and where it goes.

Browsing the calendar

Pages are static files. We don't run analytics or ad scripts. Your browser keeps two settings on your own device (in local storage, not cookies): your colour theme and, if you set one, where you're driving from. We never see either unless you share a link.

"From" and distance

Maps

Map tiles load from OpenFreeMap and terrain tiles from Amazon's open elevation data. Like any website you visit, those services see your IP address when your browser fetches a tile.

Organiser requests

If you use the add, claim, correction or removal form, we store what you enter (your email, name, the organiser, links and message) plus your browser's user agent to spot spam. A person on our team reads it. It's sent to us by Slack and email, and we email you a confirmation. We use it only to handle your request and keep a record of what we changed. Ask us at hey@openpaddock.app and we'll delete it.

The API and AI assistants

The public API and the AI-assistant connection at openpaddock.app/mcp need no account and store nothing about who asks. A place name in a search is handled the same way as in "From" above. The assistant you use has its own privacy policy for what you tell it.

Server logs

The site runs on Google Cloud (Firebase Hosting and Cloud Run). Google keeps standard request logs, such as IP address, time and page, for operations and security under its own terms. We use them only to fix problems.
